BRIEF HISTORY

On 30th December, 2018, a chain of stores were ravaged by fire at PZ in the Central Business District (CBD) of Adum, Kumasi. Just over a year ago, within a period of seventy-two (72) hours, we experienced three (3) fire outbreaks at Asafo and Kumasi Central Markets.

Among the challenges faced by fire fighters in the Metropolis has been a lack of water for firefighting purposes.

Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi MP, Subin in consultation with the incident Commander discovered that fire hydrants in the CBD were not fully functional.

Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi MP, Subin made a commitment to construct a mechanized borehole with enough water storage capacity at the Metro Fire Station to solve the problem of lack of water for firefighting.

Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi MP, Subin, therefore, believes that the construction of this mechanized borehole will improve the firefighting capacity within the Central Business District.

In combination with fire prevention measures, this project will minimize the havoc caused by fire to individuals and businesses in Subin and the Kumasi Metropolis as a whole.
