Stayhome and Observe EidPrayers- Ashanti Regional Chief Imam
The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam Sheikh Abdul Mumin Harun has called on Muslims to hold their Eid prayers at home and observe all the safety protocols in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Imam Abdul Mumin urged Muslims to continue praying for Ghana and the globe as the world continues to battle the pandemic.
Speaking on Ashh Fm’s National Agenda on Friday, he described this year’s Ramadan as unusual due to the coronavirus and ban on social gatherings.
”This year’s Ramadan is unusual due to COVID-19 and it related bans, we have prayed to Allah to wipe this pandemic from us for us to return to normal life’
We pray for Allah’s forgiveness for our nation and the world at large. We pray for healing of all infected persons in Ghana and across the world as well as the front line workers among others, he added
Sheikh Abdul Mumin called on the youth to stay out of trouble and adhere to all the executive directives.
He further admonished them to get close to Allah through devotion to prayers and its related obligations.
He revealed that, ‘ this year, we planned to have the Eid celebration with the President Akuffo Addo and the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II but due to the covid-19 and the ban on social distance it couldn’t’ materialize’.
