Failed Presidential candidate hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Stephen Atubiga is promising ‘war’ ahead of the 2020 general elections.
According to him, this 2020 elections victory for John Mahama and NDC is a ‘Do or Die’ affair, ‘I’m telling you the election is a war, Nation rescue movement.
Stephen Atubiga made this comment on Ashh Fm’s National Agenda on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, after his statement to the party warning them not to allow its Deputy National Organizer Chief Biney to part take in any sensitive meeting of the party following his marriage arrangement between him and deputy CEO of MASLOC Maame Afia Akoto who is also key member of the ruling party.
Atubiga told show host Oderfour Qwasi Kay that, what happened during the Ayawaso West Wuogon bye-elections has shown that the NDC and NPP are not friends rather enemies.
He claims the Ayawaso –West Wuogon bye-election violence by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been an eye opener and the NDC considers that as a ‘dress rehearsal’ for the 2020 general elections.
‘’ This election is a war, our eyes are open, we are ready , our boys are on stand-by , if NPP brings petrol we will light it with matches, if NPP cut –we will burn, if they bring cold water –we will bring ice blocks, if they brings hot water we will light fire for the water to boil more’’. He stressed
According to him, the NDC is prepared for this election; the party’s boys are on stand-by to resist any act of intimidation from the ruling party (NPP).
