I won the primaries on merit-Subin MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin, Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi says that anyone who thinks that he won the parliamentary primaries in a dubious means is just Hallucinating

Eugene Boakye Antwi won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries for the second time in the party’s parliamentary primaries.

The Electoral Commission was absence at the day of the election due to a supposed injunction secured by some delegates of the constituency and served on the EC.

The regional party conducted the primaries which saw the incumbent obtaining the highest valid vote cast.  Eugene Boakye Antwi polled 485 votes against 166 of his contender Joseph Boakye Danquah.

Though the contender, JB Danquah who claims to have no knowledge of the injunction, in an earlier interview on Ashh Fm said he is in support of the injunction.

According to him, the election was conducted in a fraudulent manner by the party and it amounts to contempt of court.

He alleged that those who voted at the primaries were not delegates but rather butchers from the Kumasi Abattoir.

But Speaking as a guest on Ashh Fm’s afternoon show dubbed Key Note, weeks after he had being reelected as the Parliamentary Candidate for Subin Constituency, he wondered whether those people particularly his contender  understands  the party’s constitution .

Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi who doubles as a deputy minister for works and housing noted that, in the sense that anyone who goes through an election, expects to be announced a winner at the end of the day. If any candidate, after a contest, runs to the court to seek an injunction restraining the Electoral Commission (EC) from conducting or declaring the results, it pre-supposes that that candidate has lost the elections in terms of numbers.

‘As am speaking to you the party recognized me as the official candidate for the party and eligible delegates voted for me’ ’he told show host Kwadwo Amankwah Foxzy

He was grateful to God for having seen him through all the hassles of the elections.

He further expressed his gratitude to the party delegates and the entire constituents for having confidence in him by reelecting him to represent them at the house of records.
