Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Jackson Owusu has debunked reports of being locked up in Kenya over unpaid hotel bills amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
Few days ago, reports in Kenya revealed that the Ghanaian midfielder was locked up in his hotel, Jimlizer Hotel for failing to settle his hotel bills.
The 31-year-old who joined Kenyan club Gor Mahia FC earlier this year, has denied the reports saying “No iota of truth is found in there” suggesting that he is owing the hotel bills of $6000 equivalent to Gh¢30,000.
He joined Gor Mahia FC from Lebanese side Tadamon SC.
Due to Corona virus ourbreak, all Football activities in Kenya has been suspended.
“There is no truth in the news circulated that I have being detained by any hotel not to move out, I move freely from my hotel to other places”
“No iota of truth in anything”I can’t best tell whether my team Gor Mahia is owing the hotel, I don’t know the arrangement between the two parties”, he told Kumasi based media outlet Ashh FM in an interview.
The Ghana international revealed that the issue has really troubled his poor parents in Ghana, for hearing this fake news.
“My Mum in Ghana upon hearing this wouldn’t be happy at all, she will be disturbed”
