30 babies who were born at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and Agogo Hospital on December 25 received hampers as their special Christmas gifts from Telecommunication giant MTN.
Parents of 20 babies at KATH received the special hampers while the admiring babies lied beside them at the cubicle.
Apart from the 20 deliveries recorded at KATH A1 and A2 on Christmas day, 10 were also recorded at the Agogo Government Hospital (Atonsu) respectively.
Parents at the various hospitals expressed delight at the gifts, showering blessings on the Management of MTN for their kindness.
The Midwifery Officer at the KATH A1 Block Mad. Grace Acquah who could also not hide her joy expressed her gratitude to MTN and appealed to other corporate institutions to emulate MTN and if possible make the donations a monthly ritual.
Doing that she noted, would relieve most of the mothers of the burden of not being able to buy all the things needed for the baby.
The Area Sale Manager in charge of Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo Regions, Mr. Akwasi Osei Hyiama who led the team to make the presentations said ‘this is not the first and it will not be the last’.
Mr. Osei Hyiama said MTN has chosen 26 December Boxing Day of every year to show love to babies born on Christmas day 25th and to give them exceptional welcome unto the earth.
“At MTN we delight in helping people and putting smiles on the faces of not only our clients but the general populace that’s why you see us do many things and this season is a season of sharing’’ He stated.
In all, 10 ten out of 16 regions including Ashanti ,Brong Ahafo , Upper East and West, 3 Northern regions are receiving this hampers from MTN to be presented to newborn babies on Christmas day.
The hampers, each comprising blankets, diapers, wipes, towels, shawls, bibs, toiletries, clothes and other baby essentials were distributed to the fortunate mothers
