Subin MP enrolls 1,500 constituents onto NHIS...

The Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency, Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi, is registering 1,500 people from his Constituency for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to enable them to get access to quality health care.

Hon .Eugene Boakye Antwi, called on his constituents to prioritize their health needs in order for them to remain healthy and productive.

Eugene Boakye Antwi, who doubles as a Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, said without proper healthcare, families would not be able to survive and so supporting people in taking care of their health needs ought not to be toiled with.

The exercise which is organize continuously for 3 days from 14th to 18th October, 2019 and fully sponsored by the MP was held at the MP’s secretariat, Sobolo to offer an opportunity for the less privileged and all constituents who wish to be enrolled onto the NHIS to enable them access quality health delivery free or at a subsidized cost.

Hon. Boakye Antwi explained that, the registration of the NHIS formed part of his agenda of promoting health in every area in the constituency.

The affable MP in an interview on Ashh Fm’s National Agenda said as most of the people in the constituency depended on the NHIS to access health care; he decided to use part of his National Health Insurance Fund to embark on this exercise. ‘’

I’m using my Health Insurance Fund to do this exercise , I did the same exercise last year which covered 470 people but this year I have targeted 1,500 people both renewals and new applicants’’. He noted

Eugene Antwi said arrangements were far advanced to get more people in his Constituency registered for the NHIS.

The MP said the initiative was not only to give opportunity to people to be able to access quality healthcare but also to support the improvement of health and economic well being of the constituents.

The beneficiaries included adults and children from Amakom new and old town, Sobolo, Lobito, Asafo, Afful Nkwanta, Anglodwom, Asem, Fante Newtown, Adum, Dadiesoaba, Yarewa etc. The residents are mad-rushing to register for their National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards at the MP’s office at Sobolo.
