Npp Gov’t Is Committed To Cocoa Farmers-Afigya Kwabre North Dce

The District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre North, Hon Kwasi karikari Acheamfour has urged cocoa farmers in the district not to be discouraged as plans are underway to help the Farmers increase cocoa production in the district.

According to him, NPP government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is committed to improve agriculture that is why the government has rollout flagship programs like Planting for Food and Jobs, Planting for Export and others to better the lives of farmers in the country.

Hon. Kwasi Karikari Acheamfour made this statement after his Working visit to the 250 acre of cocoa farm district best farmer 2019 to see progress of work in his farm at Anyinamso near Tetrem.

Hon. Kwasi Karikari Acheamfour was happy about 250 acre land of cocoa farm by Mr. Tom Kwarteng Amaning the district best farmer.

He said cocoa farmers should not be discouraged in farming because cocoa farming was the main occupation for their ancestors. Ashanti Regional Director for Cocobod Mr. Kwadwo Osei Danso who was part of the team that visited the farm used the opportunity to outline some of the government policies for farmers in the country.

According to him, Cocobod have decided to construct irrigation system to cocoa farmers to help farmers irrigate their cocoa during dry season and provision of agrochemicals.

He further called on the workers in the farm to do their best to assist Mr. Tom Kwarteng Amaning to raise cocoa farming to a standard level.

The Afigya Kwabre North District Best Farmer in 2019 Mr. Tom Kwarteng Amaning In an interview with the media, explained the motive behind his involvement in farming and also mentioned some of their challenges.

He said their major challenges are capital, electricity, road network and access to water.
