Manhyia South MP organizes free vacation classes


The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency, who doubles as Minister for Education Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has initiated a free vacation classes for Senior High School (SHS) students as part of efforts to adequately prepare students towards the next academic year.

The week’s vacations classes which is expected to end by September 7, 2019. Speaking in a brief interview with, the Ashanti Regional Organizer for the ruling New Patriotic Party Dr. Francis Adomako who coordinated this classes stated that, the classes is been held in two separate constituencies namely Manhyia South and Bosometwe Constituency.

The hard-working Organizer, Dr. Francis Adomako was however optimism that the move could go a long way to sharpen continuing SHS students for the next academic year and also equally prepares candidates who are going to write for the West African Senior High School Exams.

“Education is the key to success, therefore, it must not be compromised by any other thing,” Dr Adomako said.

Dr .Adomako as part of making the classes a successful together with Professor Jonathan Annan donated Mathematics Text Books to help boost teaching and learning during the weeks period.

He advised parents and guardians, whose children are in the constituency, to allow their wards to take advantage of the sponsorship to prepare them better when school resumes in September.

He also heaped praises on the teachers who leave their busy schedules to teach the students.

Dr. Francis Adomako disclosed that, Over 300 students enrolled in the weeks free vacation classes for the two constituencies.

The presentation was graced by the Constituency executives in the Manhyia South and head teacher of the Elite College in Kumasi. Meanwhile, the classes is however noted to cost a huge amount including allowance for teachers and the procurement of the text books among other and learning materials for the students.
