CCC congregants donate blood to KATH blood bank

Worshipers from the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), last Saturday voluntarily donated blood to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) blood bank.

The congregants patiently took time to go through the routine checks done before the blood donation.

Speaking to the media after donating blood, Reverend Ransford Obeng General Overseer of CCC, noted his pleasure at the opportunity to donate blood.

The Pastor explained that God in his boundless knowledge had made life such that those who have enough of blood could donate to support those in critical conditions with a little of what they have and without any problem.

According to him, this exercise is very useful such that it means to the public and his church members.

He urged the public to emulate the gesture by CCC and help stock the KATH blood bank with blood to enable them attend to emergency cases.

‘’I am determined to give blood while I have strength and I want to do so to show to the world that it doesn’t hurt to give blood to support the needy’’, Pastor Obeng noted.

The occasion was coordinated by the medical team from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Blood Bank Unit.

The Head of Blood Recruitment Unit, Mr. Kwame Asenso, lauded the efforts of the church.

He explained that the KATH Blood Bank unit used more than 60 pints of blood on a daily basis and assisted other hospitals in the region with about 30, making it 90 pints of blood daily, a situation which required that more people donated from time to enable them to have enough to save lives.
